SUMMARY:Members Only: Setting Our Resolutions
DESCRIPTION:One of the things that makes BPW unique is that we have a platform to present issues and ideas directly to Government\, but have you ever wondered how that works? BPW Edmonton will be hosting a virtual working group with Advocacy Chair Margaret Paproski and board member Carla Johnson to look at three of the resolutions that have been drafted by BPW Clubs across Canada. \nThis event will start off with a short presentation to demystify BPW resolutions. Our speakers will cover how resolutions are developed\, where they go once presented\, and how they influence change. You’ll then be guided through draft resolutions regarding steps to achieve greater gender parity for Women on Boards and Women in Politics and Support for Judicial Accountability through Sexual Assault Training (copies of which are attached) and work through the review and feedback process. This isn’t just about learning\, though. Your feedback will be presented to BPW Canada and the club that initially drafted the resolution\, to consider what\, if any\, changes to make before presenting the resolutions at the annual convention in October. \nIf you are interested in learning about this key advocacy component\, and you want to have your voice heard\, please email connect@bpwedmonton.ca for the Zoom meeting invite.
