Anne-Marie\, the Executive Director of the CCDI\, interviews leaders who are making a difference in Canada in the field of diversity\, inclusion\, and equity. \nEngage in an intimate\, members-only\, virtual series. This series is divided into three parts\, and will add value if attending one session or all three. \n  \nListen to the below listed episodes prior to the club meeting and we’ll engage through a series of prompts about these topics. \n  \nPart One: Thursday\, October 27 Focus\nCanadian Multiculturalism\n  \nEpisode 4 | Guest: Nathan Hall \nThe lack of education and public discourse around African Canadian heritage caused Nathan Hall to feel a diminished sense of belonging from a young age. As his life went on he began to realize more and more how people of color are excluded and discriminated against in a multitude of different situations. Everyone experiences the world differently\, and the first step towards building an inclusive future is the simple act of listening\, and being open to understanding a perspective different from your own. Anti-Asian racism\, over the past two years\, continues to trend upwards in Canada according to research. Panel guests as we dive into the much needed conversation about diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\, the anti-Asian racism trends in Canada\, hindering Asian stereotypes in leadership roles\, and more (50 MINS). \n  \nEpisode 9 | Guest: Naheed Nenshi \nThe former mayor of Calgary\, Naheed Nenshi is a passionate Calgarian\, an accomplished business professional\, and a community leader with a solid track record of getting things done. In this episode\, he shares the story of how his family came to live in Canada\, why they chose this country\, the flaws in the Canadian immigration system\, and how we need to change this.
